ABOUT SCALEUP4EUROPE

The “Scaleup4Europe” project’s objective is the establishment of four cross-border operating “Scaleup Labs”.

The Scaleup Labs are based on the ”living lab” concept and support qualifying scaleups in achieving a “Proof of Scalability”. The “Proof of Scalability” is achieved when the scaleups comply with all requirements of general technological, market, organizational and investor readiness and their innovation is adapted to a specific customer need.

The general goal is to establish sustainable support structures that connect four partnering startup ecosystems and their deep tech member communities in an innovative way that creates a lasting and larger regional scaleup support system. To increase the efficiency of the scaling support, the project’s Scaleup Labs focus on four specific industry verticals that benefit significantly from deep tech innovations: Smart Region, Health Sciences, Agile Manufacturing and AgTech. The five connecting startup ecosystems are: Berchtesgadener Land Wirtschaftsservice GmbH, UnternehmerTUM, JFDI GmbH/Pioneer, Pomurje Technology Park and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

Berchtesgadener Land is the project coordinator and is experienced in the technical, financial and administrative management of national and international projects in innovation of technology and services. Lars Holstein and Olav Carlsen have national and international experience in coordinating extensive European projects, including eBusiness Lotse, SANSIBAS, F+I Netzwerk BayAut, G2Real, ESA BIC Bavaria, eMoticon and COOPERS. They are responsible for the coordination of the diverse consortium and its activities.

Advisory Board

A Scaleup4Europe advisory board was established and consists of up to seven members. These members represent related organisations that help us to get highly relevant feedback on our activities and increase our reach towards our stakeholder groups. In order to institutionalize this advisory board semi-annual workshops are conducted to discuss the project activities, findings and outreach and thereby receive valuable feedback.

Gabriele Böhmer

Gabriele Böhmer has been responsible for Munich Startup, the official startup portal for Munich and the region, as well as being Head of Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Innovation, Technology and International Development at Münchner Gewerbehof- und Technologiezentrum GmbH (MGH) since 2014.

She previously set up and headed the City of Munich’s activities for startup companies for several years. She is a member of the BayStartUP GmbH and GründerRegio M supervisory boards, as well as juror and mentor on numerous projects. Due to her extensive knowledge of the Munich startup scene and her large network, Gabriele Böhmer is able to connect entrepreneurs and potential partners, investors and mentors.

Prof. MD Siegfried Meryn

Prof. MD Siegfried Meryn has been committed to thinking about the future of health for years. He is the initiator of CAPE-10 and leads HEALTH.DigitalCity Vienna, the stakeholder process grounding Vienna's ambitious digital health strategy "Gesundheistmetropole 2030".

Simona Kneževič Vernon

Simona is currently working as the head of Industrial association at TECOS, Slovenian tool an die development center and a member of a national representative consortium Strategic research and innovation partnership Factories of the Future.

Her educational background is in social sciences, whereas the career path led her from working as a consultant supporting the digitalization and growth of companies, to being the Head of the enterpreneurship department at Technology park Ljubljana. She is also heavily involved in the set up and development of the Digital Innovation Hub Slovenia. Her professional interest is mixing the social sciences background with industrial development, digitalizatio and 4th industrial revolution and the impact/opportunities for society, skills, companies and markets.

Niels Dietzsch

Niels Dietzsch is founder and Managing Director of Apexion and Management Board member of the German AgriFood Society. Prior to this, he was member of the leadership team, Head of Collaborative Venture Building and Senior Investment Manager at Fraunhofer Venture.

Mr. Dietzsch has experience as a startup founder and long-term professional experience in the investment team of the international venture capital company smac partners (formerly Siemens Mobile Accelerator) as well as in corporate transactions consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Dietzsch studied technology and management-oriented business administration with specialization in mechanical engineering at TU München and HEC Paris.

Nadica Milanovic

Nadica is Innovation Project Manager at Delta Holding Company in Serbia, in charged for running innovation process within the company, managing innovative projects and initiatives and start-up program.

Delta Business Incubator is a three-month program that helps start-ups to launch, develop and improve their product through knowledge sharing, mentoring and business contacts. She has experience in project development and management both in NGOs and corporations.
